You can find the details and prerequisite for each workshop below:

1. Network Science, Game of Thrones and US Airports

Mridul Seth

Workshop abstract:
Network Science deals with modeling and analyzing networks. Politics, mathematics, law, finance, pretty much any data can be modelled as a network and in this tutorial we introduce the basic of network theory using the pydata ecosystem(NetworkX, Pandas, matplotlib) and we will use a Game of Thrones character network and the US Airport dataset to look at some real world network data.

About the speaker:
Mridul is trying to understand the world around us using data and tools from network science, currently at UCLouvain. He is an open source enthusiast and has been selected for Google Summer of Code, and is involved with NumFOCUS. He has given multiple tutorials at PyCon, PyData, and EuroScipy to share his love of Python and network science.

Audience Level:
Intermediate

Requirements:
Python 3 and Anaconda installed
Libraries used: networkx, pandas, matplotlib, numpy and jupyter

2. Awesome Data Analytics using Elastic Stack

Aravind Putrevu

Workshop abstract:
Data is the not the new oil. Now, we are at a interesting juncture to be able collect, collate and comprehend data from different sources. But, what are the efficient open source tools available which can help you achieve the impossible while letting you concentrate on your business use case. Elastic Stack comes in rescue to solve problems with data.

About the speaker:
Aravind works at Elastic as Developer Advocate and looks after the Developer Relations function in India. He is passionate about evangelising technology, meeting developers and helping in solving their problems.

He has worked in Financial and Security domains in his career. He has deep interest in Search, Machine Learning, Security Incident Analysis and IoT tech. In his free time, he plays around Raspi or a Arduino.

Audience Level:
Novice

Requirements:
Python 2 or 3

3. Practical Pandas

Nikhil Singh

Workshop abstract:
“You don’t need to be a data scientist to use Pandas, and neither you become one if you use it!” Intended for beginners, this tutorial aims to provide a basic yet comprehensive understanding of Pandas by taking some practical examples and deriving interesting insights from them.

About the speaker:
Nikhil Kumar Singh, a.k.a Indian Pythonista is a Python enthusiast and a CS undergrad from DTU and an avid pythonista, who loves to develop utilites and automate boring stuff. He is a Python instructor at Coding Blocks and is also an ML enthusiast, hobbyist blogger, and YouTuber!

Audience Level:
Novice

Requirements:
Python 2 or 3 and Pandas

4. Introductory workshop on Computational Machine Learning using Julia

Abhijith Chandraprabhu

Workshop abstract:
You have been hearing about machine learning (ML) and artificial intelligence (AI) everywhere. You have heard about computers recognising images, generating speech, natural language, and beating humans at Chess and Go. Workshop will be structured as “reverse classroom” based laboratory exercises that have proven to be engaging and effective learning devices. Knowledgeable facilitators will help.

About the speaker:
Abhijith is currently working as a data scientist at Julia Computing, Bangalore. Previous to that he worked as data scientist at Gramener, Hyderabad. He holds masters in Applied Mathematics and Bachelor of Engineering in Electronics and communication.

Audience Level:
Intermediate

Requirements:
Julia Download the jupyter notebooks and data to be used in the workshop here
